A homecoming picnic dinner was held at Yost's park by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hugunin, LaPrairie, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hugunin and son, Ira, who were visiting from Long Beach, Cal.

A formal (fraternity/sorority event) was moved to Yost's Park after Austin came down with scarlet fever about six hours before the event; it was described as "a unique success."

Big Hill Day was observed by the students of Beloit College, starting at 9 o'clock in the morning; students traveled to Yost's park by the Janesville interurban and were taken across to the hill by motor boat.

BeloitOctober 15, 1922

The Milwaukee Journal published a special correspondent's article reporting Prof. George L. Collie's suggestion that the Indian mound groups in and around Beloit be advertised as a motor tourist attraction, and reporting that a thorough charting showed 210 Indian mounds to have existed in and close to Beloit.
