1921

In 1921, the land at the mouth of Turtle Creek in Beloit, known as Yost's Park, served as a venue for organized social gatherings. In April, the Round Table announced a Phi Kappa Psi picnic at Yost Park, with transportation by machine or boat, a picnic supper, dancing until eleven, music by Harry Flynn, Alvin Strahle, and Norval Meyers, and chaperons Coach and Mrs. E. J. Osgood. In September, the American Legion posts of Janesville and Beloit prepared to entertain ex-service men and members of the national guard at a big picnic at the park, with cavalry troops from Janesville and an infantry company from Beloit secured. ↗ ↗
