1915

In 1915 the land at the mouth of Turtle Creek continued to serve as a site for public gatherings at Yost Park. In January, a ski jumping competition was held there, with Anders Haugan of Milwaukee winning the professional class, Thorleif Knutsen of Milwaukee placing second, and Ragnar Omtvedt of Chicago third; Elmer Jensen of Chicago won the amateur class ahead of John Guttormsen of Beloit, and Omtvedt also took the long standing jump in the professional class. In August, employees of the Electric Light Co. joined Janesville Electric Co. employees in a picnic at the park on a Tuesday. ↗ ↗
