In Beloit, Private Charles Ingleby died on January 1, directly or indirectly from typhoid fever, and the Wisconsin Tobacco Leaf was discontinued on June 29. A printing concern's creditors foreclosed in April, with the material sold to Chicago parties and both papers suspended. In October the Journal began publishing a Beloit edition in German, the Beloit Deutsche Zeitung, and on December 3 a series of revival meetings conducted by Rev. Harold F. [—] was begun. Rev.
