1917

In 1917, events at the mouth of Turtle Creek ranged from a court case to road planning. On May 21, Mahar pleaded guilty in Beloit municipal court to taking fish from Frances Yost, valued at a dollar and change. In July, the Janesville Daily Gazette reported that the Yost park route was under consideration for federal aid pavement, eighteen feet wide, with a preliminary matter pending; the Rock County board of supervisors had acted in favor of the route the previous fall.
