1909
In 1909, the land at the mouth of Turtle Creek continued to serve as the site of Yost's Park, a venue for group outings and sporting events. In March, a potential accident on the interurban rails near the park was averted when brakes kept the wheels on the rails. Over the summer and fall, the park hosted a series of organized gatherings, including the Knights of Columbus joint picnic in July, the Rock County Druggists' association meeting in August, the M. W. A. outing and a Fraternal Reserve association picnic, and a Carpenters' picnic advertised for Labor Day. ↗ ↗ ↗ ↗ ↗ (+1 more)
