1896
In Beloit itself, the year 1896 saw changes in city offices and institutions. Mr. Hansen resigned as city clerk in February while serving on the board of public works, and he also represented the First assembly district of Rock County in the state legislature during 1895 and 1896. The Beloit schools formed a department of drawing, and the University of Wisconsin placed Beloit high school on its accredited list. A new pastorate began for D. Merrill's successor Thaddeus T.
