• “In 1853 he was appointed circuit judge, which position he held until the election of Judge Doolittle. He was elected to the assembly in 1850, 1851, 1857 and 1861. In 1857 he was elected speaker of the assembly. He was elected state senator for the term comprising 1862-63.”
