The evidence

• “Veek, a prosperous and representative citizen of Spring Valley township, Rock county, Wisconsin, was born in Norway December 11, 1841, and is the son of Ole and Christe (Kolstrud) Veek, both natives of Norway. The father, a farmer by occupation, in 1852 emigrated with his family to America, reaching Quebec after a voyage of nine weeks. Thence he came to Milwaukee by way of the lakes, and from that city drove with horses and wagon to Spring Valley township.”
