• “C, Nov. 6, 1861 ; was Lieutenant of that company and resigned June 13, 1863. For five years engaged in distilling and vinegar business; afterward, for five years in the wholesale and retail liquor business ; since then, manufacturing ; he was born in Canada Sept. 1, 1834 ; lived in Monroe Co., N. Y., several years ; in 1853, 1854 and 1855, was clerk in the International Hotel at Niagara Falls ; came to Chicago in 1855, in the ticket office of the M.”
