• “Koshkonong; born in Lynn, Mass., Dec. 3, 1808 ; son of Amos and Betsey (Larabee) Newhall ; came West in 1844, and located in Chicago, where he worked at his trade of shoemaking ; came to Wisconsin in 1868, and purchased 165 acres on Sec. 1, Fulton. Married, in 1829, Lois E., daughter of William and Lois (Newhall) Emerson — born Jan. 28, 1812, iu Wakefield, Suffolk Co., Mass. ; they have four children living — William E., Lois E., Francis S., Abby L. Liberal in religion and Democratic in politics.”
