“During the school work at the Shiloh academy, Mr. Whitford was married, March 23, 1852, to Miss Euth Hemphill, who was at that time preceptress of the academy, and who faithfully shared his labors through all the varying sunshine and shadows of more than fifty years, and who followed him so quickly to their great reward.”
