Smith and Pierce, of Janesville. As junior member of the firm of Fethers, Jeffris & Fifield he practiced his profession at Janesville from 1888 till 1898, when he was appointed by the governor on recommendation of the entire Bar Association to fill the vacancy on the municipal bench for Rock county, caused by the death of Judge Phelps. At the expiration of his term in 1899 Judge Fifield was without opposition elected to the same office for a term of six years and re-elected in 1905.
