• “Mr. Bacon, with his wife, went from Massachusetts, in 1834, to Monroe Co., N. Y. ; in 1844, he started for the Badger State ; arrived here in Wisconsin in the fall ; immediately located in what was then Janesville (now Harmony) Township, where he and his brother Owen together bought 360 acres of land ; the same year.”
