January 16, 1892, it was voted to offer thirty shares of the stock to the employes as an investment. On January 31, 1898, a special dividend of 10 per cent was made in addition to the regular 6 per cent dividend on 1,000 shares, which had been paid each year since 1892; also a dividend of 6 per cent on the $7,750 invested in the electric plant, which supplied city light. This part was afterwards purchased by the city.
