• “A building had already been erected in the middle of the river, on the south side of Milwaukee street bridge by Peter Myers in the early days of the city. Just when the building now in Rock river abutting on Milwaukee street prior to 1852, for chapter 426, laws of "Wisconsin for 1852, approved April 17, 1852, grants Peter Myers the right to maintain the building now in Rock river abuting on Milwaukee street bridge provided it does not interfere with the floatage in the river and so long as it shall be used as a meat market. Mr.”
