• “Fairfield ; born in New York in 1834; came to Wisconsin in 1842, with his father, who was one of the earliest pioneers of this county, and located at Bradford, where he received his early education ; at the age of 24 years, he purchased a farm of eighty acres from his father, on Sec. 14, which remained in his possession for four or five years, when he sold out and bought 160 aona in the same section; it is his present homestead. Married, in 1857, Miss Mary Palmerton, a native of New York ; they have five children — Carrie, born Sept. 25, 1858 ; Eva.”
