• “In 1851, he was appointed to fill a vacancy as Director of the Milwaukee & Mississippi Railroad; was afterward twice elected to the same position. In 1858, he was elected Register of Deeds ; his duties required his removal to Janesville, where he remained until the summer of 1863. Mr.”
