• “When the subject of our sketch grew to manhood, receiving such education as he could secure in the public schools of New York and Wisconsin, in September, 1860, he entered the office of Dr. Corydon Farr, of Shopiere, Rock county, with whom and under whose direction he remained in close touch for most of the time for four years.”
