• “Holton, under the firm name of Holton & Goodall ; they also started an ashery in connection with that business, for the manufacture of pearlash and saleratus ; this firm shipped the first cargo of wheat from Milwaukee to Buffalo, on board the bark Champion, which was built at Milwaukee, this being her first trip ; the firm continued for six years, when they separated, and IMr. Goodall continued business on his own account till about 1852. Mr.”
