• “He was graduated from Alfred Academy, Alfred, N. Y., in 1853, and during the years 1854-56, and 1857-63, was instructor of Latin language and literature at Milton college. In 1857 he was- graduated from Union college, Schenectady, N. Y., with the degree of Bachelor of Arts, and received from the same institution in 1861 the degree of Master of Arts.”
