In 1891 Mr. Hansen was elected a director of the Beloit Savings Bank, and in 1892 he was elected to his present office of secretary and treasurer of the bank. This is a strictly mutual savings bank and is owned by the depositors, who now number (1908) nearly 6,000, while its deposits are over $1,130,000, which proves that the people of this community are in a highly prosperous condition and that their surplus savings are being well handled and carefully conserved.
