The Seventh-day Baptist church at Milton was built at a cost of $3,000 on lots donated by Joseph Goodrich.

• “Subsequently, a change was made to the house of Mr. Joseph Goodrich, and again to the old academy, where their form of religious worship was indulged in every Sabbath until 1852, when the present church was built, at a cost of $3,000, upon two lots donated by Mr. Joseph Goodrich.”

• “Articles of faith and a constitution were later adopted and the church was organized November 12, 1840. There were then sixty members, who worshiped in the private houses of Joseph Goodrich and Henry Crandall, and still later in the academy, until 1852, when a church was erected at a cost of $3,000 upon lots donated by Joseph Goodrich. This has since been replaced by the large and beautiful modern structure which now adorns the public square.”
