  • “Benedict's mother, Mrs. Westby, was born in Crawford county, Pennsylvania, November 17, 1831, to Edward and Rebecca (Chamberlin) Bradley, the former a native of Connecticut and the latter of Pennsylvania. Her parents removed to Wisconsin in 1845 and settled on a farm in the township of Turtle, in Rock county, where the mother died at the age of fifty-two.”
