In 1912, Yost's Park in Beloit was an established venue managed by John Yost, as shown by a listing in The Billboard on May 18, 1912. In June, the triangulation division of the Rock River survey party, working near Beloit, reached Yost Park. During the year, Richard Knill, an oilman, lost one of his horses near Yost Park while passing through the section.
