• “On August 20, 1862, Lieutenant E. 6. Harlow, with about sixty men recruited for the Twelfth Wisconsin Battery, left Janesville and was present at the battle of luka Mississippi, September 19, 1862. On September 29, 1862, Company E, of the Third Eegiment of Wisconsin Volunteers, Ira Miltimore of Janesville, captain, left Janesville for Racine, where they were mustered into the service October 18.”
