• “The company secured depot grounds in Milwaukee, and did considerable grading for the first twentyfive miles out. Becoming embarrassed in January, 1854, the Milwaukee, Fond du Lac & Green- Bay consolidated with the LaCrosse & Milwaukee company. Work was at once resumed on. the partially graded line.”
