• “Wilbur F. was born at Lowell, Mass., May 22, 1841, and when a lad of about twelve years came to Wisconsin with his parents and settled on a farm which his father purchased in Rock county. He passed his boyhood on the farm and attended public schools and acquired a good English education.”
