The evidence

• “They came to this country in 1846 and settled first in Johnstown township, where the father died in 1837 at the age of thirty-nine. He had bought a farm of 100 acres and in April, 1847, the mother moved on to it with her family. She lived until 1891, attaining the age of eighty-one years, making her home with our subject.”
