• “Her parents, Thomas and Miriam Ball, brought her to America in 1836, sailing from Portsmouth, England, April 6 and reaching Quebec, Canada, after a voyage of seven weeks and three days. Miss Ball came to Beloit in 1841 and lived at first in the family of A. B.”
