• “Y. In 1844 he removed to Beloit, Wis., where he resided up to the time of his death. In the spring of 1856 he was elected judge of the first judicial circuit of Wisconsin, but was compelled to resign his position on account of illhealth and the pressure of private business, at the end of two and one-half years.”
