• “P. 0. Avon ; born in Vermont in 1821 ; came to Wisconsin in 1844, locating at Avon, where he purchased eighty acres — his present homestead. Mr. B. is one of the pioneers of Rock Co. ; at the time of his first settling in Avon, he drove an ox team to Milwaukee, which was the nearest grain market, taking from six to ten days for the journey. Married, in 1844, Miss Lucy C. Johnson, a native of New York.”
