• “Thomas J. Ruger, was a clergyman of the Protestant Episcopal church and officiated as such, and taught as professor of mathematics in academic institutions in New York until the year 1844, when he removed to the territory of Wisconsin and settled in Janesville, where he resided the remainder of his life. He took charge of the mission of his church there established and became rector of the same when organized as a parish, and continued his charge as rector until the year 1855.”
