• “Their son, Silas our subject's grandfather, was born November 12, 1776, and died May 7, 1858, in his eighty-second year. He was a farmer by occupation ; his wife, Abigail, was born December 27, 1779, and died at the age of nearly eighty years, September 23, 1859.”
