• “(Storm) Flagler, was born in Monroe county, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1838. His parents lived on a farm in Pennsylvania, their native state, but in 1844 moved to Rock county, Wisconsin and settled on a quarter-section of unimproved laud in section 12, Janesville township, which the father purchased for $5 per acre. He was a man of considerable influence in the community, well educated and for a time taught school and also engaged in surveying for a number of years.”
