Beloit; daughter of John and Elizabeth Gill ; born in Montgomery Co., Ky., in 1815 ; her husband, John Chamberlin, was born in North Carolina in 1808 ; they were married in Crawford Co., 111., Aug. 3, 1835, and had five children ; came to Beloit in 1844; he took up 160 acres of Government land in Sec. 8, built a log cabin and lived there three years ; he then bought forty acres iu Sec. 20, and built the residence she now occupies. Mrs.”
