Mckinney, born in Tolland Co., Conn., March 1, 1833, but lived till his 19th year in Springfield, Mass.; then went to New York'City and spent nine years in mercantile business; from 1861 to 1865, was general contractor for the Government; among the large contracts, Mr. McKinney delivered to the United States Government Post at Nashville 56,000 cords of wood io the brief space of twenty-one months.”
