“P.O. Beloit; born in Monroe, Ashtabula Co., Ohio, May 15, 1827 ; son of Donald Bennett, who came to Turtle in 1838; the year following, brought his family, July 28, 1839. Orville was then 12 years old ; he settled on 160 acres; at that time there Was not a path nor a fence, all was naked prairie ;”
