An amended constitution was adopted at Beloit College; the Delian and Alethean Debating Societies were organized and the Archaean became the Archaean Union (P206 dates the change to the winter of 1859).

• “December 19, 1859, an amended constitution was adopted by which the Delian and Alethean Debating Societies were organized, and the Archaean became the Archaean Union, comprising the Delian and Alethean Societies as co-ordinate members of the Union. These Societies continue in a flourishing condition at this time.”
