Dr. Daniel C. Babcock came west and settled at Johnston [Johnstown], Rock county, one of the first physicians in southern Wisconsin.

Babcock w-as born in New York state in 1818, and graduated first from the Castleton, Vt., Medical College and then from one of the New York city medical colleges in 1842, coming west and settling at Johnston, Rock county, in 1843, thus being one of the first physicians to engage in the practice of medicine in southern Wisconsin.
