• “Y., when he was 3 years old, living there until he was 19 years of age ; he went to Steuben Co., N. Y., residing there till he cam^ to Wisconsin in 1844 ; in the spring of 1851, he went to California across the plains and located in Calaveras, engaging in surface-mining ; in the fall of 1855, he returned to Wisconsin. Married, in 1855, Martha B. Langworthy, who died in May, 187(1, leaving two children — William B., born Aug. 1, 1858 ;”
