• “Clinton; born in Ireland June 14, 1826; son of John Conley ; Stephen, at an early age, came to America and to Vermont, and, in 1849, settled in Sec. 24 in Clinton ; now has a fine farm of 140 acres under the best of cultivation ; has fine stock of cattle and sheep. Married Sept. 5, 1851, Sarah Jane Fenny, of Vermont; have had eleven children — Joseph B., born July 1, 1852 (he is in Bremen Co., Iowa);”
