• “Messrs. Lathrop, Willard and Miller were appointed a committee to draft a Charter for our Society, to be presented to our Legislature at its next session, asking corporative powers, and the members from our county were respectfully requested to use their best endeavors to insure the passage of such an act, Quarterly Mextive, March 6th, 1854.”
