• “F. Whittaker, Esq., the proprietor, built this factory in 1849, and filled it with the hest eastern machinery in 1850. The building is of stone, Tho main part is 37 by 51 feet, four stories, with a wing 30 by 43 feat, two stories, and an addition in the rear 18 by 25 feet, one story.”
