• “Mills was elected a member of the State Constitutional Convention in 1846. In November, 1854, he removed to Evansville, where he engaged as stock agent for the Beloit & Madison Kailroad Company (now Chicago & North- Western). In 1851, he was appointed to fill a vacancy as Director of the Milwaukee & Mississippi Railroad; was afterward twice elected to the same position.”
