“J. He was from the old French Huguenot stock ; he died in 1841 ; his son, Edouard F. Hillyer, commenced the study of law in 1832, and the practice in 1835, and in 1876, when he retired, was one of the leading men in the profession in that part of the State; also had an extensive practice in New York.”
