• “P.O. Beloit; born in Delaware Co., N.Y., in 1811 ; in 1837, came West, visited Chicago, Milwaukee and other cities, and, in 1844, took up eighty acres of Government land in Section 19, and brought his family here; he built a handsome residence, with barns, etc. He married, in Chautauqua Co., N.”
