• “Janesville; born in New York in 1811 ; came to Wisconsin in 1865, locating at Indian Ford, where he purchased a farm of 160 acres, remaining ten years ; he then sold to his two sons and moved to La Prairie, where he purchased a small farm, making a -specialty of raising tobacco. Married, in 1833, Miss Catherine Borst, a native of New York, who died in 1853 ; they had six^children ; one girl died. He married again, in 1857, Miss Sophia Pickard, a native of New York; have one boy — Chauncey, born in 1858;”
