• “The first birth to occur on the site of the village was in the family 6f Hohensheldt, in 1845, the lady being subsequently known as Mantana Hohensheldt. The first marriage took place in 1854, the contracting parties being Mr. Simon Hohensheldt and a Miss Fox.”
