A greasy tramp “sassed” a Spring Prairie farmer one day last week while passing the house and then towed off his impudence by throwing stones, whereupon the granger grasped his gun and started for the hobo, who had taken the hint and ran. A shot from the fuzee brought him to a standstill, with uplifted hands, when hayseed proceeded to tie him up into knots with binding twine. He was brought to Elkhorn and arraigned before the justice, where he plead guilty and commenced that very day to serve out a ten days’ sentence in the county jail.—Independent.
